Florida Vacation

So right after we celebrated Emily turning 4, we boarded a plane bound for Disneyworld. Rick and I couldn't wait to see the excitement on our little girl's face. It was priceless. Every child should have that look of absolute amazement. And to hear her gasp as she laid eyes on the caslte for the first time. What a moment!!!

We were mostly at Magic Kingdom, as you know, that is where all the princesses live. I planned for Emily to have a Birthday lunch in the castle with all the princesses. However, on the day that I thought we had reservations, I was mistaken. The reservations were actually for the next day. Well, I had to break the news to Emily that she would have to wait an extra day to have lunch with the princesses. Emily had a little of a meltdown. This broke my heart as well as hers. Rick did what Rick does best and calmed her down. However, I was not her favorite person, so she wanted me to stay behind while she spent some quality time with the good parent who didn't just dash her hopes of having lunch with Cinderella. Eventually she got over it and we all had lunch with the princesses the very next afternoon.

Oh yeah, Rick thought Pochantas was the "hottest" of all the princesses.

We did manage to squeeze in a day at Daytona Beach. Emily was very exicted about seeing the ocean. Ty just took in a little R&R.

Lazy Days of Summer

In May, Rick's mom and sister (Brennon, too) came to Colorado to meet Ty. And everyone fell in love. Suffice it to say, Brennon was A-OK with not being the baby anymore.

We did manage a few trips to the zoo. We also visited the aquarium and went to the Adams County Fair. Ahhh, I miss those lazy days of summer.

August was a whirlwind of activity. William Tyler Joseph was baptized, Emily turned 4 and had her first day of preschool. Wow, who knew that one month can hold so many emotional moments in ones life.

Almost forgot to mention, we went on a family vacation to Disneyworld so that Emily could meet all of the princesses that live in the castle.

Johnson Family Christmas

This year for Christmas, we spent it with Rick's family. His brother and newphew flew in from Indiana and his mom, Tina and Brennon came in from Dallas. Fun was had by all. This will be a Christmas that will go down in history. It was crazy busy, hectic and loads of laughs. Plus, most of us ended up with viruses by the time all was said and done.

Big Christmas Eve poker going on. I'm pretty sure that Josh walked away with a little of everybody else's money.

Christmas Day was off to my parents so that we could spread more holiday cheer.

We rang in the New Year with just the four of us. No big deal.

I Love Fall

Fall arrived very quietly. And then Emily realized that Halloween was fast approaching. It amazes me that my child can tell you which holidays belong with what season.

Well we were getting ready for Halloween and got the house all decorated and hit the pumpkin patch in search of the great pumpkin.

Rick does an excellent job being a daddy all year round, but when it comes to carving pumpkins, he rocks.

This year Emily wanted to be pumpkin. Well you know those particular costumes are readily available for babies. So I tried my hand at sewing yet again. I can honestly say that this is not one of my better accomplishments, but Emily loved it and that made me happy.

Welcoming Home Tyler

The beginning of 2007 was unexpectedly quiet. We were just waiting for the newest addition to the Johnson Family.

Rick, Emily and I welcomed Willian Tyler into our world on April 23, 2007. He arrived 4 weeks early and weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces. He was about 2 pound bigger than his sister.

Emily was very excited for Baby Ty Ty to pop out of my belly. She was very anxious about introducing herself to her new little brother.

Their first tea party was a big sucess. Well, maybe for Emily. Tyler just went along with whatever sissy was doing. We can only assume that things won't be this way for long.
